The Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol has been recorded by  the Richmond Civic Theatre and Earlham College.

Gather your family around the radio at 7 p.m. on either Saturday December 27th or Sunday December 28th to tune into WECI 91.5-FM and weciradio.org.

There was a time in America’s culture when children and adults alike would gather around the radio to listen to stories, music and the news.  As technology evolved we’ve gotten away from sitting together has a family listening to crackle of the radio.  This event is a great opportunity to honor this tradition.  Feel free to teach your kids how to wiggle the antenna to get a better signal.

From Earlham College’s website: “We wanted to do something special for our 50th anniversary and this ties in nicely to the deep connection we already have with the Richmond community,” says Dan Gonzalez ’15, the co-station manager for WECI. “We want to develop this partnership even further and give RCT the medium they need to develop this idea.”

WECI is seeking donations to match a $7,500 grant promised to the station to upgrade its recording equipment. To make a contribution to the station, visit weciradio.org and click on the “donate” button.
